We’re starting to think that the Brits are still holding a grudge against us. Like how come their artists always have to one up ours? Take Elvis Costello for instance. This mega-star is from Britain and he’s bloody awesome (see, even their slang is better).

Elvis Costello has been dipping his toes in the entertainment pool since he was a young chap. He got his first taste of fame as a backup singer with his dad in a commercial which went on to win a silver award at the 1974 International Advertising Festival. After that, he put his big boy britches on and started his own career. And because he’s so talented he went on to producing a lot of great hits. Think “She,” “Allison” and “Veronica” to name a few. Sounds like he was quite the ladies man. And because of all those ladies, he’s won a Grammy, was nominated twice for the Best British Male Singer, made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was listed as one of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stones.

Have we gone barmy (aka crazy) or do you also think they’ve been secretly holding a grudge since 1776? Either way, as long as they keep sending artists like Costello to Vegas, we’re cool.
