Copywriter

We’re Vegas.com, the only online travel agency that operates from inside of Vegas. For people looking for unique experiences, we offer on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes Vegas intelligence as it happens, so they’ll always be the first to know what’s hot, and get the best deals. And we’re hiring.

We’re looking for a witty, smart, confident writer. We’re not writing about Milwaukee or Duluth. We’re writing about Vegas. We need someone whose voice is a lot like the city we’re talking about – engaging, real and a hell of a good time. This person has to write in the Vegas.com voice, have a killer sense of humor, and turn around honest, clever copy under tight deadlines.

Our credibility depends on you. We don’t trick people into believing we know more than the next guy because we actually do know more than the next guy. We live here and know all the little secrets. When people read our messaging, they should feel like they already trust us. They should believe we’re accessible to them and that we’re the best people to help make sure they have the trip of a lifetime.

Can you write like that? If so, introduce yourself.

What you’ll be called: COPYWRITER

What you’ll be doing:

  • Researching, writing and editing succinct, interesting content for Vegas.com, the Vegas.com blog, and LasVegas.com. This includes product reviews, seasonal content, promotional copy, emails and the occasional video script. You’ll have to make all this stuff fun to read and sometimes, you’ll even take and edit photos for all these sites too.
  • Building product pages using a Content Management System (Rhythmyx) and an Inventory Management System (Czar). This includes writing content, editing and uploading pictures, selecting search categories, creating physical locations, and other stuff like that.
  • Attending PR events as a Vegas.com insider whose opinion matters to the people planning their trip to Vegas, from wherever they are in the world.

What you’ll need: A thorough understanding of the difference between there, their, and they’re, as well as AP style. Knowledge of the Interwebs, WordPress, Microsoft Windows and Office, HTML a plus but not required.

Vegas.com offers competitive salary and a benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, and PTO plan.
