We all have our own ideas of Utopia. For some it's a never ending supply of chocolate or maybe a flock of scantily-clad hard bodies that wait on you hand and foot.
And for others it's a supply of beer that will harken you back to the days that you snuck drinks out of the Slurpee machine when the cashier wasn't looking.
While there is a staff at Yard House that would seriously frown on you reliving your childhood, they are more than happy to pour you draft beer out of one of the more than 160 on tap. With so many beers on hand, Yard House at Town Square is what Greek philosopher Plato was likely thinking about when he made the word famous long ago.
The beer menu isn't set up like your watering hole back home. With this much beer on tap a simple domestic and imported tag just wouldn't cut it. So instead, the Yard House has categories that read like a wine list, from blonde ales to extra special bitters and fruit lambics, porters, India pale ales and even Yard House Craft Beer. Each category explains what to expect in the flavor like with Belgian strong ales, which are classified as complex, spiced and fruity finish.
If there is a good beer you tried once in some obscure town in the middle of nowhere, odds are you can find it here. And if for some reason you don't see that beer, there are plenty of other options to choose from.
The bar, of course, is the center of the entire room. And because there are so many different beers on tap, there is actually a book located behind the bar with descriptions of each. Normally you would expect your bartender to give you a good idea of what to expect, but with this many beers it's hard to keep up.
The great part about having so many beers on tap is that it's going to make more than one trip to sample them all. But if Yard House is really your Utopia, odds are you're not ever going to want to leave.
